Ring in the holiday cheer with trumpeter Byron Stripling’s infectious yuletide joy and your favorite seasonal tunes. Stripling and vocalist Sydney McSweeney will dazzle audiences with their vibrant and soulful musicianship. With popular tunes like Joy to the World, Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town, White Christmas, Silent Night and a few swingin’ surprises, audiences will experience one of the best musical gifts of the season.

Zemlinsky’s The Dwarf is about a man of short stature: his disability makes him the object of ridicule and disregard from society, and the fact that he himself is unaware of his disability makes him the victim of a perfidious game. In this celebrated production, Tobias Kratzer brings Zemlinsky’s opera to the stage as a bitter psychological thriller — and uses the autobiographical background of the relationship of the also short composer with Alma Schindler-Mahler as the framework.

Götz Friedrich’s production from 1988 transposes the action from 1840s Paris to the end of that century, i.e., to Puccini’s own present day. His version of the work, with its colourful depictions of Belle Époque Paris and the outsized stage sets, continue to captivate audiences 35 years later.
